GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in specialist and mainstream school environments in Chesterfield. As a SEMH TA, the candidate will play a key role in fostering emotional wellbeing and academic engagement.

Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA):

Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Implement strategies that promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and academic achievement.
Support teachers in managing classroom dynamics and adapting learning materials.
Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
Build strong, trusting connections with students, staff, and families.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA):

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable.
Full UK driving licence and business insurance are essential due to travel between sites or off-site interventions.
A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to working with challenging behaviour.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
