Interim Accountant

Our client is looking for an Interim Accountant. The successful candidate will join a high performing team that provide strategic insight and effective management accounting to key stakeholders across the organisation to drive quality financial and business outcomes.

The successful candidate will have capital and treasury management experience, as well as having previously worked in a public sector organisation.

Day to day duties:

Assist with the planning of the closing of accounts timetable, guidance, and training.
Ensure business continuity of the AP and AR systems so that suppliers can be paid promptly
Monitor the on-going completion of financial reconciliations relating to the areas assigned to you
Maintain an overview of the relevant control accounts and prepare monthly control account monitoring
Complete CIS returns to HMRC
Provide cover for the preparation, reconciliation, and submission of the monthly VAT return
Ensure all statutory accounting reporting, Government and other returns are completed
Operate the provision of petty cash accounts, keeping the policy and procedures up to date
Provide management reporting and KPIs commentary for key stakeholders
Work with cost centre managers to analyse annual budget and prepare reforecasts
Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support strategic and management decision making
Recommend and help implement internal process improvement
Undertake additional duties, supporting other senior Finance staff as and when requiredEssential requirements:

Part-qualified CCAB as a minimum
Strong Excel skill
Capital and treasury management experience
