My client has been established for over 50 years in the design, manufacture and sale of tooling and machining products. They are looking for a CAD Design Engineer to assist with the development of new products, along with the upgrade of existing products. The ideal candidate will come from a mechanical background and have a strong understanding of AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D. You must also be based within commutable distance of Sheffield.

CAD Design Engineer Position Overview

Producing designs and detailing products
Using AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D
Upgrading current designs to meet updated market and legal requirements
Preparing full detail manufacturing drawings
Working in accordance to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
Involved in projects from initial concept to customer handover
Contacting new and existing customers and suppliers
Providing assistance in generating quotations
Preparing work instructions and parts lists
Liaising with manufacturing departments
Travel to client sites may be necessary

CAD Design Engineer Position Requirements

Industry experience using AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D
Able to work to ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 standards
Experience within a mechanical/fabrication discipline
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Microsoft package skills, including Work, Excel and Access
Based within commutable distance of Sheffield
Driving licence

CAD Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary £27,000 - £32,000
33 days holiday including Bank Holidays
Half hour lunch
