Building Physics Engineer

Manchester

A well-established building engineering consultancy is seeking a Building Physics Engineer to join their team. The company is renowned for delivering innovative Building Services and Sustainability solutions to the construction industry, offering exciting opportunities to work on high-profile projects.

The Role:

You will play a key part in energy modelling and building simulation projects, providing technical expertise to support sustainability and compliance. This includes Part L compliance, EPCs, and overheating analysis (CIBSE TM59/52), as well as producing high-quality reports and recommendations.

Essential Criteria:

Proficient in IES VE building simulation software

Significant experience in building physics, energy modelling, and building simulation

Ability to take a proactive role on projects

Experience completing Part L compliance, EPCs, and CIBSE TM59/52 overheating analysis

Strong report writing skills

Knowledge of energy modelling and building simulation principles

Desirable Criteria:

Understanding of mechanical building services systems

Knowledge of HVAC system modelling

Familiarity with SAP methodology and assessments

IES Accreditation

OCDEA / LCC / LCEA qualifications

Degree in Building Physics or relevant engineering discipline

Daylighting simulation experience

Knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, or other sustainable assessment methods
