SALARY: £35 - £40/hour

Our client is looking for an experienced NHS General Manager to assist in a busy Mental Health setting.

The post is pivotal to the transformation, development and success of the Adults Specialist Rehabilitation Division and is a key role in supporting the unified model of clinical and managerial leadership in achieving clinical excellence

Location: Birmingham

Duration: Expected to be 12 weeks potentially longer

Hours: Average of 37.5 hours per week; (flexible working to include weekends and bank holidays as part of on call roster)

Pay: £35.00 Paye - £40.00 Umbrella (Dependent on experience)

Duties include:

* The post-holder will be responsible for the performance, management and operational delivery of services within an allocated clinical group.

* The post-holder will support the Division in the commissioning of service opportunities and delivery of excellence across all areas. This includes the required business development to support and sustain commissioned activity.

* In collaboration with the Deputy Divisional Director and Clinical Leads, the post-holder will provide accurate business information and support the robust planning of clinical services to meet the required national access targets and the successful delivery of Trust and Commissioner KPI's.

* Hold and manage the delegated budget for the allocated clinical group delegating operational management of service specific budgets as appropriate.

* Investigate and analyse available clinical effectiveness, patient safety, patient experience and other data sources to support decisions in relation to patient safety, clinical effectiveness and service development.

* Work with clinical teams in identifying process improvements and efficiencies for the benefit of improving the patient pathway, reducing unnecessary delays and releasing financial savings

* Draft and develop business cases and tender proposals in conjunction with the Trust Business Development team

Skills/Experience

* Evidence of strong leadership skills, the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence at a senior level with a supportive style whilst also able to take difficult decisions and act assertively

* Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Patient Administration Systems.

* Understanding and knowledge of finance and performance management.

* Knowledge and skills in workforce planning, evidencing the ability to engage and fully utilise staff skills and interests.

* Keen to develop services in line with service, educational and research priorities with the service.

* Able to work independently or as part of a team.

* The ability to recognise potential breakdown and conflict when it occurs and generate potential solutions

* To demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and report writing and presentation skills
