We are recruiting for a high-growth, entrepreneurial business that has scaled rapidly to £4m+ revenue with a lean team in Head Office. Now, they are entering the next phase — and the finance function needs to catch up.
This is not a “steady-state” role. This is a build-and-transform mandate.
You’ll step in to architect a robust, scalable finance function — bringing structure, clarity, and control — before handing it over to a capable internal resource and allowing leadership to step back into strategic mode.
The Mission
Over 3 months, you will:
Build a best-in-class finance engine
• Implement AP automation (Apron + QuickBooks)
• Establish clear payment approval workflows
• Design and embed a monthly close process
Create meaningful financial visibility
• Develop a monthly management accounts pack
• Build a weekly KPI dashboard (P&L, cashflow, margins, debtor days)
Upskill and enable
• Coach and structure an in-house accounts resource
• Transition processes into BAU ownership
Put structure where there is currently reliance
• Write SOPs across reconciliations, payroll coordination, EU VAT, invoice finance, expenses
What We’re Looking For
• Fully or Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
• Proven experience in SME / owner-managed environments
• Track record of building finance processes from the ground up
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Comfortable operating alongside external accountants
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and delivery-focused
