We need a full time Family Support Worker for an incredible project run by a local housing association.

Salary: £28,175

Fixed Term Contract - Until 31st March 2027

35 hours per week

Working across 2 projects based in Cardiff

Good holiday entitlement

Three week rota

Week 1 - 8am to 5pm

Week 2 - 9am to 5pm

Week 3 - 9am to 3pm

With 1 late afternoon every 3 weeks: 3pm to 9pm

What will you do?

• Provide support to those who are facing housing issues
• Assist with complex needs - like substance misuse, mental health and significant trauma
• This is not a care role, you will not be involved in personal care
• Advice, guidance, emotional and practical support
• Be there to listen, understand and provide links to other services
• Working with other agencies, services and charities
• To be compassionate, non-judgemental and proactive

What do we need?

• Someone who understands trauma and physiologically informed practices
• Knowledge of housing related support and HSG (Housing Support Grant) projects
• Able to complete detailed support plans
• The ability to carry out the relevant risk assessments
• Someone who has worked in homelessness, housing, domestic violence, substance misuse or mental health support
• Great with people - can build trust and meaningful connections
• A caring and compassionate support worker
• Someone who wants to make a real difference
• Able to drive and pass a DBS check
• DBS on the update service (adult and children) is desirable
• Start date before 7th May 2026
