The Role:
TeacherActive is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Tutor to work with a school in Basildon. This role involves supporting students who are unable to access mainstream education, delivering tailored sessions either within the school setting or in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver personalised learning sessions to students outside of the traditional classroom environment

Support students with a range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, and those at risk of exclusion

Build strong, positive relationships to re-engage students with education

Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs

Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the school and relevant professionals

Promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or outreach settings

Strong behaviour management and engagement skills

Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach

Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications are desirable but not essential

An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
