This role plays a crucial part in coordinating despatch activities and managing transport logistics for efficient warehouse operations. We are seeking an individual with a can-do attitude, strong initiative, and enthusiasm for both independent work and teamwork.Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will ensure accurate and timely deliveries by collaborating closely with warehouse teams, coordinating transport schedules, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position involves approximately 60% administrative work and 40% warehouse-related tasks.Shift Details: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:30Salary: £25,000-£26,000 per annum (depending on experience)Contract Type: Permanent roleKey Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough checks on despatch orders for accuracy.
• Optimise delivery routes to improve cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with customers to schedule deliveries as per their requirements.
• Manage company van schedules and assist drivers with any issues.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide excellent service.
• Work closely with sales and warehouse teams to streamline processes.
• Assist in warehouse operations when required.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of orders and stock movements.
• Maximise company van capacity for efficient transportation.Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous experience as in a similar role is a must to be considered for this role.
• Previous experience with Sage would advantageous
• Must be computer literate with strong IT skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to solve problems proactively.
• Proficiency in managing relationships with customers and colleagues.
