SUMMARY:

We have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a fantastic care home based in Bournemouth, Dorset. Our client is a well-established home supporting adults with mental health conditions of ages 18 plus.

In April 2021, they were awarded the second highest rating by CQC and they continue to provide exceptional care and support to their residents, including rehabilitation and individualised development of independence.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Support Worker, or an accomplished Support Worker who is looking to develop and progress their career.

SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Support Worker, you will report to the Duty Manager and you will be expected to make positive contribution to the day-to-day management of the team. This includes leading by example and role-modelling best practices while delivering high standards of care and support; promoting equality, diversity and the rights of the people you care for.

You will contribute to the planning and actioning of activities within the home, while working to guidelines set out in the company's policies and procedures.

You will be expected to act as supervisor from time to time and line-manage staff as appropriate, contributing to performance monitoring and supporting the team's learning and development.

SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this role, you will need to show:

* A minimum of 1 year experience in mental health care

* An understanding of the needs of people with serious mental health conditions

* Evidence of leadership and supervisory skills

* Excellent communication skills

* A commitment to promoting independence and choice

* An understanding of person-centred approaches and individualised support

* An ability to develop positive relationships with the people that use the service

* A comprehensive understanding of the different types of abuse and their indicators

* An understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace

You will originally be employed on a temporary basis until you have passed the probationary period.
