1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Huddersfield

We are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Huddersfield that is urgently seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to start in the new academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young pupils with additional needs.

About the Role as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant:

The school caters for primary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) - both verbal and non-verbal
• Moderate to severe learning difficulties
• Complex needs and sensory impairments

The successful applicant will support pupils both in the classroom and in small group or 1:1 settings, helping to create a safe and engaging environment for learning.

We particularly welcome 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant who:

• Have experience supporting young children with SEND, especially those with severe ASC or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
• Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
• Have worked in early childhood settings, primary schools, or in creative environments such as Theatre in Education (TIE) or workshops for children
• Are proactive, patient, and confident in building relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
