Passionate and dedicated Sous Chef required to join our clients expanding kitchen team at a beautiful country house hotel set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role in a kitchen that celebrates seasonal, locally sourced produce — including ingredients grown in their Victorian walled kitchen garden and prepared in their on-site butchery. As sous chef you will be preparing meals for their variety of dining spaces, including a cozy public house, elegant private dining rooms, a spacious terrace, and a bright orangery-style restaurant with an open pass.

The Role

* Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen across multiple service areas.

* Help manage food preparation and service in their varied dining spaces

* Ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all dishes.

* Contribute to menu innovation and the creation of daily specials.

* Maintain food hygiene, health, and safety standards.

* Motivate and guide junior chefs, helping to develop their skills.

The Person

* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.

* A deep passion for local, sustainable, and seasonal produce.

* Creativity, leadership, and a commitment to culinary excellence.

* Ability to stay calm under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.

* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to team collaboration.

* A genuine enthusiasm for honest, simple food done well.
