Primary Transition Coordinator - Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only + 2 Weeks

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Transition Coordinator to join our vibrant team. This role is crucial for managing and enhancing the transition process for students moving from primary to secondary education. The successful candidate will work closely with staff across a range of networks and partnerships, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition for all students.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Coordinate and support the organisation of Open Evenings and parental tours for Open Days.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Headteacher, SENDco, Heads of Year, and Year 7 Tutor Team on the annual transition programme for new students.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with Headteachers and Year 6 staff at partner primary schools to facilitate a positive transition.
- Coordinate and attend Year 6 transition visits, including meetings with staff and students, to gather and disseminate student information.
- Lead all administration tasks related to transition, supported by office staff.
- Liaise with primary schools to identify vulnerable students and arrange additional transition support sessions.
- Assist in organising Summer School and manage parental enquiries related to transition, including admissions.
- Update, revise, and distribute the induction pack to parents and lead the induction programme and related activities.
- Plan and coordinate Year 6 Induction Evening and Year 7 Breakfast for students and parents.
- Prepare for the first day of school in September, ensuring all necessary information and support is in place for new students.
- Lead Discovery Week and attend residential trips with students.
- Coordinate Year 5 and Year 6 transition activities throughout the year and deliver Year 5 Headteacher Roadshows.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in an educational setting, preferably with experience in student transitions.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Experience in event planning and administration.
- Knowledge of educational systems and transition challenges.
