Teacher of SEND - Secondary School in Preston (October Start)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) to join our supportive team in Preston, Lancashire. This is a crucial role focused on providing high-quality, inclusive education to students with a wide range of learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons, creating a nurturing classroom environment, and working collaboratively with teaching assistants and pastoral staff. This role requires a passionate individual with a deep understanding of different learning difficulties and a commitment to making a tangible difference in student's lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to students with special educational needs.

Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and interventions to support individual learning plans (ILPs).

Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.

Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to foster an inclusive school environment.

Manage a small group of students or provide in-class support in mainstream lessons.

Promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel safe to learn and grow.
What We're Looking For:

Desirable Qualification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but not essential.

Essential Experience: Proven experience as a Teacher of SEND, working with secondary school-aged students.

A strong understanding of a variety of special educational needs, including but not limited to, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and ADHD.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.

A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of special education.
Start Date: October 2026 or sooner.
