Overview:
We are supporting a well-established engineering organisation delivering high-voltage infrastructure works within the UK energy sector. They are currently engaged on a grid connection project for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and require an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support commissioning and energisation activities.

Role Overview:
This is a hands-on role requiring a competent SAP authorised up to 275kV to undertake switching operations, issue safety documentation, and support commissioning works on live high-voltage equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe systems of work and supporting energisation in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out high-voltage switching operations up to 275kV

* Issue and manage Permits to Work and Safety Documents

* Issue and control Sanctions for Test

* Support commissioning and energisation activities on site

* Review and validate switching schedules, control and energisation programmes

* Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safety rules and industry best practice

* Liaise with project teams, engineers and control personnel to coordinate works safely

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person on HV transmission projects

* Authorised up to 275kV (or equivalent)

* Strong background in switching operations and permit control

* Experience supporting commissioning and energisation of HV infrastructure

* Ability to review and challenge switching programmes and procedures

* Strong understanding of UK safety rules and electrical standards

Additional Information:

* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:00

* Potential for weekend working (to be confirmed)

* Potential for contract extension depending on project requirements
