We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Lead Practitioner to join our vibrant, community-run nursery in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your early years career and play a key role in shaping high-quality learning experiences for children aged 0-5.

About the Role:

As Lead Practitioner, you'll work closely with the nursery manager and team to deliver outstanding early years provision. You'll be a role model to staff, support planning and observations, and help ensure the children receive the very best care and education every day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example in delivering excellent early years practice in line with the EYFS

  • Support and mentor staff in planning, observations, and child development

  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community

  • Help ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery alongside senior staff

What We're Looking For:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential)

  • Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting

  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

  • A confident, caring, and proactive leader with excellent communication skills

  • A commitment to inclusive, child-led learning and safeguarding
