Are you a teaching assistant based in Portsmouth or surrounding areas seeking a new opportunity to work within a mixed comprehensive secondary school?

This role is a great opportunity for a graduate, former teaching assistant, care or youth worker looking for more responsibility and experience in supporting students. Any cover supervisors or graduates with any relevant or related work experience are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.

This position is full time & temporary with the potential opportunity to go permanent if the role is a good fit. 

Start date: April 2024

To be considered for the position of teaching assistant with Teaching Personnel, you will:

Be passionate about teaching children
Be patient, caring and engaging
Be enthusiastic about education
Be supportive and helpful
Confident with Maths, Science and English to a GCSE level
Hold or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check- Child only
Duties will include:

Developing the character of the young people
Boosting self-confidence and self-esteem
Being a positive role model for students
Supporting inside and outside the classroom
Providing 1-2-1 and small group support
Safeguarding pupils and protecting their well-being
Details of the role:

Full time role Monday-Friday
Working with students aged 11-18 years
Competitive salary from £11.85 per hour
Weekly pay via PAYE
