About the Role

This role is suited to a confident practitioner who can manage cases through public law proceedings and deliver strong permanence planning. You will:

Hold and progress a caseload of children subject to care proceedings

*

Prepare clear, analytical statements and court reports

*

Attend court hearings, giving evidence where required

*

Work closely with legal colleagues, Guardians and extended family networks

*

Deliver permanency plans including long-term foster care, kinship and adoption

*

Ensure assessments are robust, child-focused and compliant with statutory timescales

*

Work as part of a specialist team committed to stability and best outcomes for children

*

Be supported through regular supervision, case tracking and strong line management

What You'll Need to Apply

Registration with Social Work England

*

A recognised qualification in Social Work

*

Experience of court proceedings and statutory children's social work

*

Knowledge of the Public Law Outline (PLO), care planning and legal frameworks

*

Confidence in working with legal professionals and in court settings

*

A commitment to relational practice and timely, child-focused intervention

*

Strong written communication and analysis skills
