The Opportunity:

An outstanding primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Year 6 Teacher to join their dedicated team in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to help guide Year 6 pupils through their final year of primary school, preparing them for the transition to secondary school. The successful candidate will work in a supportive, collaborative environment where high standards of teaching and learning are at the core of the school's ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 National Curriculum, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for Key Stage 3 and beyond.

Use a range of assessment methods to monitor and track progress, identifying areas of strength and areas for development, and providing timely, constructive feedback.

*

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, fosters confidence, and promotes high academic and behavioural standards.

*

Collaborate closely with other teachers and school leaders to ensure a smooth, coordinated approach to curriculum delivery, particularly in preparation for SATs and secondary transition.

*

Build strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and supporting their engagement in the school community.

*

Take part in school events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development to enhance both personal and team growth.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

*

Strong knowledge and experience of the Year 6 curriculum and the ability to prepare students for SATs, secondary school transition, and beyond.

*

Proven ability to use formative and summative assessments to track pupil progress, identify learning gaps, and plan effective interventions.

*

Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive, productive learning environment.

*

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

*

A commitment to professional development and a passion for inspiring students to reach their full potential.
