Prep Room Operative - Food Production

📍 Location: Downham Market, Norfolk
⏰ Hours:
• Monday to Friday - 7:00am or 8:00am start until finish
• Occasional Saturdays and Bank Holidays may be required

We are currently looking for reliable and hardworking Prep Room Operatives to join a busy food production team in Downham Market. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for ongoing work with potential for a permanent position.

About the Role

As a Prep Room Operative, you will be responsible for preparing fresh produce for production while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Your duties will include:

• Produce Preparation - trimming, peeling, slicing and preparing fresh produce according to written specifications
• Machinery & Tool Usage - safely operating knives and specialised preparation machines
• Production Targets - following daily production sheets to meet customer requirements
• Maintenance - reporting any equipment issues or breakdowns to supervisors
• Hygiene & Safety - maintaining a clean and organised work area and following strict food safety and HACCP procedures.

Working Environment

• Working in a chilled or refrigerated production room
• Mixed team of male and female operatives
• Some heavy lifting involved in the role

Due to food safety regulations, the following are not permitted in the prep room:

• Jewellery or piercings
• False nails
• False eyelashes
• Nail varnish
