We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected freight forwarding business based in Gatwick. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team as an Import Operations Consultant, with scope to develop into exports and niche market movements.

Whether you already have import experience or are an ambitious trainee looking to build a long-term career in freight forwarding, full training and certification can be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

You will manage your own operational desk, ensuring import shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

* Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries

* Preparing accurate and competitive quotations

* Processing operational import shipments (Air, Road & Ocean)

* Liaising with carriers, contractors and internal teams

* Costing jobs and raising invoices

* Maintaining accurate operational records

* Supporting warehouse duties when required

About You

* Experience in Imports (Air, Road & Ocean) and Customs operations preferred

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Able to manage workload independently and within a team

* IT literate and confident with systems

* Reliable, proactive and eager to learn

🕘 Working Hours

* Monday to Friday

* 09:00 - 18:00 (1-hour lunch break)

* Office-based role

Salary & Benefits

* £26,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

* 3-month probation period

* 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
