Permanent Teacher of Sociology (A-Level Focus, Potential for Humanities Leadership) - An Outstanding Havering School
An outstanding school in Havering is seeking a talented Permanent Teacher of Sociology with a strong expertise in A-Level Sociology and the potential to contribute to leadership within the Humanities Department's Sixth Form provision. This role will be primarily focused on delivering exceptional A-Level Sociology teaching.
Your Role: As a key member of our Humanities Department, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality Sociology education at A-Level. We are looking for someone with the skills and ambition to potentially contribute to the development and leadership of our KS5 Sociology curriculum and student outcomes within the broader Humanities context.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons primarily at A-Level.
* Demonstrate a strong and current understanding of the A-Level Sociology specification and assessment.
* Track and analyze student performance at KS5, implementing effective strategies for improvement within Humanities.
* Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities Department on curriculum development and sharing best practice in A-Level Sociology.
* Mentor and support students in their A-Level studies and university applications for Sociology-related fields.
* Potential to take on leadership responsibilities within KS5 Sociology in the Humanities Department in the future.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong degree in Sociology or a closely related field.
* Significant and successful experience teaching Sociology exclusively at A-Level is essential.
* A deep and current understanding of the A-Level Sociology landscape and best practices within a Humanities context.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with leadership potential within a department
