Engineering Manager

£55,000 - £65,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

A hands on Engineering Manager is needed for a friendly, close‑knit manufacturing site close to the M11 corridor. You'll lead a small engineering team while also being actively involved in maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Responsibilities

* Lead mechanical and maintenance activities, including breakdowns and improvements.

* Manage the Scheduled Maintenance Plan and ensure accurate documentation.

* Oversee engineering projects, new equipment installations, and upgrades.

* Deliver engineering support aligned with safety, quality, and cost targets.

* Drive equipment reliability and high OEE.

* Work with production to define specifications and manage parts.

* Conduct risk assessments and uphold site safety standards.

* Provide hands‑on leadership and support to the engineering team.

Experience Required

* Strong mechanical or maintenance engineering background in a production environment.

* Chemical Engineering background is a bonus.

* Hands‑on troubleshooting and repair skills.

* Leadership experience and strong communication skills.

* Project management ability and good organisational skills.

* Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
