A highly regarded food manufacturing business based near Nelson is seeking a motivated and capable Assistant Transport Manager to join its logistics team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone currently working as a scheduler, planner, or assistant manager who is ready to step up into a leadership role.

Reporting to senior management, you will support the day-to-day running of the transport department, ensuring efficient planning, compliance, and service delivery. You'll be responsible for managing driver schedules, coordinating vehicle availability, and maintaining high standards of safety and legal compliance.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in logistics within the animal feed, livestock, or agricultural machinery sectors, and a solid understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these industries. You'll be confident in managing resources, liaising with third-party hauliers, and supporting the team through training, performance reviews, and operational improvements.
