Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

Care Assistant

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Full time and Part time contracts available
  • Day shifts: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (30 minute unpaid break and two 15 minute paid breaks)
  • Night shifts: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (1 hour paid break)
  • Alternate weekends required
  • Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

The RoleAs a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role within our care team, supporting residents with their daily routines while ensuring they feel safe, respected and valued. This role is ideal for both experienced carers and individuals who are new to care but have a genuine passion for supporting others.

You will support residents living with complex needs including advanced dementia, high dependency care and distressed behaviours. This includes assisting with personal care, mobility, emotional support and helping residents remain as independent as possible while promoting dignity and wellbeing.

Working closely with nurses and the wider care team, you will follow personalised care plans, observe and report any changes in residents’ health or wellbeing, and help create a calm, supportive and therapeutic environment where residents feel comfortable and secure.

What We Are Looking For

  •  NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential
  •  Previous care experience is welcome but not required as full training can be provided
  •  Compassionate and patient approach when supporting residents with complex needs
  •  Strong communication and teamwork skills
  •  Reliable, caring and committed to delivering high quality care
