Job Type: Permanent, FullTime

Salary: £24000 - £25000/annum

The Visual Impairment Support Worker will have responsibility for acting as the first point of contact for student Visual Impairment (VI) enquiries, maintaining and updating student records in relation to VI on the system.

The successful candidate will ensure that pen sketches are available for tutors and are up to date with their specific requirements providing one to one learning support to students in class, liaising with the tutors on a weekly basis regarding student progress, in order to effectively support the student during their time at the college.

This is a term time post for 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Job Requirements

You will be required to have the following qualifications:

SEB/UEB Grade 2 Braille
Specialist Teaching Service - Supporting Pupils with VI Part I and Part II
Kent Association for the Blind Orientation and Mobility Awareness Course
Kent Association for the Blind - Assistive Technology
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
GCSE level passes or equivalent in English and MathsThe successful candidate will have experience of supporting students with Visual Impairment, the experience of preparing materials to support student curriculum and the ability to use Braille.
