Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Clapham Primary School - September 2025 Start 
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Clapham to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 1 from September 2025. 
 
This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with special educational needs in Key Stage 1. You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored, 1:1 support for a child with additional learning and communication needs. 
 
Location: Clapham 
Start Date: September  
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) 
 
About the Role: 

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with identified SEN 
Support the pupil's access to learning and help them engage in classroom activities 
Assist with implementing strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation 
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and support plans 
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals 
Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment that supports learning and development  
The Ideal Candidate Will: 

Have experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in Key Stage 1 
Be calm, patient, and enthusiastic about inclusive education 
Be confident in supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, speech and language difficulties, or sensory processing challenges 
Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team 
Be proactive, reliable, and committed to helping every child reach their potential
