Koch Industries, a premier provider and merchandiser of chain, rope and accessories in North America, is looking to add a Import Cost Accountant to our growing Minneapolis, MN office.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor of Accounting or Business degree and excellent financial analysis skills with at least three years of experience in cost accounting and preferably price analysis. Experience in manufacturing and experience with Microsoft NAV and Lanham AFP is highly preferred. In this position, the Import Cost Accountant is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data from internal and external sources on products, costs, and product markets to assist in providing pricing recommendations, quotes, and margin analysis to senior management.
What will you be doing here?
Develop and maintain standard pricing models and perform cost and financial analysis of data.
Extract data from various systems; manipulate and incorporate it into a usable format.
Compile an analysis to support management in setting pricing strategy
Work with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, R&D, and Senior Management on the development of quotes for line reviews
Review customer pricing for new and existing accounts and maintain pricing lists and a pricing structure for contracts and job quotes.
Review vendor costs, raw material fluctuations, exchange rates and freight costs to accurately define landed costs for vendor reviews.
Contribute to effective implementation of promotion pricing programs and corresponding new business practices.
Regularly interact with senior management and perform tasks in the preparation of proposals.
Prepare specialized ad-hoc reports/analyses, as requested.
- Contribute to the preparation and distribution of launch materials and maintain online databases to ensure access to current information for field sales associates.
What do you need to do this job?
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Minimum 3 years cost accountant experience.
Experience in pricing and analysis in manufacturing is preferred.
Expert proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft NAV experience highly preferred
Excellent financial analysis skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to take ownership and accountability for work.
Ability to interface and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
