Vertical Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected infrastructure consultancy that is delivering a major highways upgrade in collaboration with National Highways. This project plays a critical role in unlocking a significant housing development and enhancing regional connectivity in the West Midlands.

An exciting opportunity now exists for a Highways Project Manager with strong post-degree experience to join the team in Birmingham or Stoke. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in infrastructure delivery, working at the interface of national highways and residential development.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of planning and delivering highways infrastructure works associated with a large-scale residential development. You'll liaise closely with National Highways, local authorities, developers, and technical consultants to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the delivery of highways infrastructure schemes in line with National Highways requirements

* Lead the coordination of technical teams, consultants, and contractors

* Monitor project programmes, budgets, and deliverables

* Engage with key stakeholders including housebuilders, local councils, and statutory bodies

* Report project progress and manage risks and issues proactively

* Ensure compliance with CDM and highways design standards (DMRB, etc.)

* Oversee technical approvals, planning conditions, and Section 278/38 processes

What We're Looking For

* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline

* Strong post-degree experience in infrastructure/highways project delivery

* Knowledge of highways design and construction, ideally under DMRB standards

* Familiarity with project management processes and contract administration

* Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders

* Experience working with or alongside National Highways is advantageous
