An exciting part-time opportunity has arisen for a Cover Supervisor to join a thriving primary academy team in Croydon. This crucial part-time position (Wednesday to Friday) offers a secure long-term placement with a strong view to permanent appointment. It is ideal for qualified teachers (QTS/QTLS) and ECT teachers seeking part-time roles, or experienced HLTAs who specialise in PPA cover. You will play a direct part in upholding the school's high standards.

• Supervising classes and managing classroom dynamics during teacher absences, delivering pre-set work across primary subjects.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining an orderly, safe learning environment, following school policy.

• Providing guidance to pupils to ensure they remain on task and complete learning objectives.

• Reporting back to the class teacher on work completed and any significant incidents.

• Collaborating closely with colleagues to maintain a consistent educational approach.

• A relevant teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS), or significant experience as an ECT Teacher or HLTA with substantial PPA cover experience.

• The confidence and capability to take sole charge of a primary classroom and implement effective behaviour management strategies.

• A robust working knowledge of the primary national curriculum and the ability to work effectively across key stages.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, essential for working effectively with pupils and staff.

• An existing enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or the preparedness to undergo a new application.
