Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Group Safety Strategy and Data Manager on a 6 month contract based in Warwick (some travel to US may be required).

Role falls Inside of IR35.

Responsibilities of the Group Safety Strategy and Data Manager:

* Work with the Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing to develop and implement Group-level strategies that help to prioritise the mitigation of key safety risks and leverage key opportunities for collaboration and consistency of approach.

* Own the Occupational Safety BMS and the Process Safety BMS for the Company, engaging with the BMS community and ensure mechanisms for evidence of conformance are in place.

* Aligned to the Data Management BMS, act as Data Owner for safety and health data, ensuring appropriate controls are in place, compliance with the Data Management principles are adhered to, and taking owning the risk associate with and mitigation of health and safety data.

* Lead the development and maintenance of Group level policies for safety across the Company. Ensure that the policy footprint remains risk-based, relevant, and reflecting of internationally accepted good practice.

* Oversee the Safety & Health reporting and data management team and deliverables across the group. Oversee a step-change in how Safety & Health data is collected, analysed and converted to insight, working with colleagues across the business to ensure a group view of the Safety & Health position.

* Support the Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing in ensuring the Group Executive and the Safety & Sustainability Committee have information that will provide them the best insight and help them to execute their responsibilities. Identify significant safety issues across the Group and coordinate key messages.

* Lead the development and implementation of a group-wide approach to externally verified safety certification. Ensure the selection of the certificated management system help to execute its strategy, support good governance.

* Participate in the appropriate external forums and with peer organisations in the UK and US to identify and promote two-way exchange of good practice re Safety and Process and share learnings for the benefit of the business.

* Work with the Business Units to ensure the appropriate significant safety risks are identified and discussed at the Group Executive Safety and Sustainability Committee and Board as appropriate.

* Collaborate closely with leads across the Business Units to ensure flow of knowledge, information, and shared best practices.

* Provide the Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and team a perspective on the most significant safety risks, the adequacy of the controls in place, and the improvement actions underway to mitigate the risks and/or improve controls.

* Lead a highly motivated, innovative and value-focused team, developing talent and a performance management culture that drives value through employee engagement and successfully meets or exceeds all strategic objectives for the area.

Requirements of the Group Safety Strategy and Data Manager

* Experience in leading safety and health programmes.

* Experience of operating across different levels of business and influencing senior management.

* Effective people management skills with the ability to develop a high performing team.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and influence.

* Knowledge and experience of policy creation and implementation, documented management systems, external certification practices, control frameworks, auditing, data capture and analysis, performance monitoring, risk management, compliance reporting

* Degree level or equivalent experience
