Senior IT Support Engineer

SALARY: From £30,000 to £32,000 per annum £30,000 - £32,000 + Benefits

For a leading M&E Contractor we are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer To ensure the IT department is fit for purpose. This specifically covers the design, maintenance and support of the organisations IT infrastructure tomanage information, hardware, software and technology in an efficient, productive and secure manner.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Providing desktop and server support

Supporting and maintaining MS Server / Desktops and MS Exchange

Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops

Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops

Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date

Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops

Fault finding to laptops and desktops

Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops

Completing internal user moves including phones

Patching of network and phones

Making of Cat 5 e network cables were necessary

Ensuring all logs for equipment and users are maintained

Ensuring patches and upgrades are applied to core servers

Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxesSetting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements

Supervision and delegation of work to IT support staff

Provide 1st, and 2nd line technical support queries professionally and efficiently, maintaining

a high degree of customer service

Work effectively and productively with 3rd line support

Take ownership of user problems, perform a technical diagnosis and fix the issue either

remotely or on-site

Document all calls on the call logging system

Arrange for external support visit whenever problems cannot be resolved in house

Assist in the organisations compliance with GDPR legislation

Customer Face to Face deskside support which includes:

- Remote deskside support

- Ticket Management

- Laptop\desktop builds

- Documentation

- Hardware support


Strong knowledge of Microsoft based

operating systems with emphasis on

Windows 7 / Windows 10 and MS Server

2008 / 2012

Networking Experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)

Knowledge of Active Directory (AD)

Experience troubleshooting MS Office

Remote Access tools such as Teamviewer

Good understanding of PC hardware and

software set-up and configuration and

TCP/IP networking skills
