Reed are exclusively supporting a thriving organisation in King's Lynn, focused on improving lives, recruiting for the position of HR Assistant to join the team on a 12-14 month fixed term contract.
Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, varying between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the HR team, ensuring all HR Administration tasks are completed on a daily basis
- Maintaining accurate records and upholding confidentiality at all times
- First point of contact for employee HR queries via phone and email, providing guidance on policies and procedures, escalating if required
- Assist managers in dealing with requests and issues relating to absence, flexible working applications, parental leave/MAT leave and annual leave
- Provide support to employees on the employment lifecycle, using initiative, empathy and sound judgement to answer queries and make suggestions in line with policies
- Conduct exist interviews
- Coordinate and support with sickness and absence meetings, travel to other sites as required (ad-hoc)
- Keep updated with HR legislation and developments
- Support the team with employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance and performance related matters
- Support with research for specific projects as requires
- Create correspondence to staff to confirm changes in pay, contract T&C’s, employment terminations, transfers and more
- Monitor end of probation reviews, advising Head of Dept.'s as required
- Take minutes in HR meetings
- Make arrangements in the event of personal matters such as births, bereavement or long term sickness
- Ensure updated policies are available to staff on the intranet
- Support with continuous improvement measures
Requirements
- Ideally experience within a HR position or working towards a CIPD qualification
- High level of emotional intelligence
- GCSE in English and Maths
- Passionate about continuous professional development
- Able to work in a busy fast paced environment
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively internally and externally to a senior level
- Experience using information systems including data input and reporting
- Able to self-evaluate and reflect
- High levels of attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to be respectful and promote equality and diversity
- Excellent organisation, multitasking and time management skills
- Professionalism and credibility
- Full UK licence to travel to other sites as required
