Therapy Assistant

Full Time | Term Time (plus inset days)Location: HillingdonSalary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

We are looking to appoint a motivated and caring Therapy Assistant to support our specialist provision for children and young people with additional needs in Hillingdon.

About the Role

In this role, you will assist qualified therapists in delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting assessments. You will work collaboratively with pupils, school staff and families to ensure strategies are consistently applied in daily routines.

Your duties will include:

  • Delivering therapy activities following guidance from therapists
  • Supporting pupils in both one-to-one and group sessions
  • Preparing and organising therapy materials and equipment
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress
  • Assisting teaching staff in applying therapeutic approaches in the classroom
  • Encouraging communication, independence and emotional wellbeing

You will be working with pupils who may have a variety of needs, including communication challenges, sensory differences, and physical or learning disabilities.

Essential Criteria
  • Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs
  • Ability to implement therapy programmes under guidance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant training or qualifications in education, therapy, or child development
  • Understanding of communication and interaction needs
