The Role:
The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) is seeking a proactive and technically confident CRM Data Product Owner. As CRM & Data Product Owner, you will lead the adoption, strategic development and continuous improvement of our systems.
You will be responsible for managing, evolving and championing our new CRM system and other data-based platforms, ensuring that they meet the Society's needs and support our mission-driven outcomes. Your strategic and collaborative approach will enable data-informed decisions to deliver exceptional value to our members and stakeholders.
You'll take the lead in realising and maximising the benefit of our investment in our CRM, including leveraging data to support our strategic aims, enhance member experience and improve operational efficiency.
Taking a collaborative approach to working with our cross-functional teams, you will be the bridge between our business and technical functions, developing and leading our CRM and owning the data systems roadmap, encouraging and embedding best practice in their use, and championing best practices in data governance and analytics across the organisation.
Key Objectives:
Product Ownership
- Lead the transition from CRM implementation to live product ownership alongside our Project Manager, stakeholders, and external supplier.
- Develop and manage the CRM and data product roadmap, backlog, and associated budgets.
- Prioritise features and enhancements based on business needs, user feedback, value, and technical feasibility.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party suppliers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational workloads and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
CRM & Data Strategy
- Lead the adoption and continuous optimisation of the CRM system to support engagement, communication, and evolving organisational goals.
- Define and uphold data governance standards to ensure integrity, compliance, and security.
- Foster a data-driven culture by enabling teams to explore, understand and utilise data effectively.
- Collaborate with teams to create meaningful reports, dashboards, and analytics.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with internal teams and volunteers to understand business needs and translate them into practical CRM and data system enhancements.
- Support and train teams in best practices for CRM usage and data management.
- Promote consistent communication of product vision, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders across the organisation.
Project Delivery
- Support the final stages of CRM implementation, taking on key decision-making responsibilities.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of CRM and data-related projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
- Collaborate with IT partners, marketing, membership teams, and other stakeholders to implement new tools and integrations.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Strong project management knowledge (Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall)
- Extensive experience with CRM platforms (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects

Desirable:
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Umbraco CMS
- Previous experience in a membership organisation or with volunteers

Salary: £40K to £50K DOE
Location: London Office & some Hybrid working
Hours: Full Time Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm
Holiday: 33 Days, inc. BH
