Quality Engineer
Location: Alton
Contract Type: Permanent 
Salary: £ 34k-£36k , 22 days holiday plus BH, Pension

Syntech Recruitment are working with a long established client who are looking for a proactive and skilled Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. This role is key in driving exceptional product quality, process performance and customer satisfaction across our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing
Provide quality support for high-risk processes and new product introductions

Perform product and process inspections, producing clear and accurate reports

Operate and maintain QC lab and metrology equipment

Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions

Participate in internal, customer and regulatory audits

Develop, monitor and analyse KPIs to improve quality performance

Contribute to Lean and Six Sigma projects that reduce defects and improve efficiency

Support APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA and error-proofing activities

Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to resolve concerns

Deliver training and provide guidance to increase quality capability across site

Collaborate closely with Technical, Operations and Supply Chain teams

What we're looking for
Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems

Expertise in structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone etc.)

Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma & continuous improvement methodologies

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Able to interpret engineering drawings and use measurement tools

IT proficient, including statistical software

HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (preferred)
