Customer Manager / National Account Manager

FMCG Industry | Permanent | Full Time

Location: Peterborough (with lots of flexibility)

Are you passionate about driving growth and building strong customer relationships? Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking a motivated and experienced Customer Manager to join their team. As a Customer Manager, you will play a vital role in managing and growing the categories, aligning with our client's sales strategy and driving results in the discounters and convenience segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a growth plan in collaboration with customers, focusing on volume, profitability, and mix.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for budget, target volume, contribution, and non-financial KPIs.
  • Communicate and prioritise customer plans with key stakeholders to drive opportunity development.
  • Create, negotiate, and manage Joint Business Plans to deliver internal and external KPIs.
  • Manage budgeting, pricing, forecasting, and promotional activities, ensuring alignment with the S&OP process.
  • Collaborate with the Category, Marketing, and Project Teams to deliver growth opportunities and channel-specific initiatives.
  • Embrace and demonstrate our client's values, behaviours, and competencies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of the discounters (Euro's & High Street) preferred, as well as the convenience landscape.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and learn new skills.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to stakeholder management and deadlines.
  • High level of verbal and numerical ability.
