Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Dublin. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in cost management with experience in the areas of power infrastructure and generator systems. Your knowledge of fast-paced, high-tech construction environments will be crucial in maintaining control over cost, quality, and timelines on these vital facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead MEP cost management on various projects from pre-construction to final account.
- Prepare, manage and present accurate cost plans, estimates and cost reports.
- Support procurement strategy and tendering process for major MEP packages.
- Carry out commercial evaluations and contract negotiations with MEP subcontractors.
- Provide detailed cost analysis and value engineering solutions specific to power distribution systems, generator installations, UPS systems, and critical mechanical systems.
- Support the project team and client with advice on commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend and lead client meetings, design coordination meetings, and project reviews.
- Oversee change management processes and ensure that variations are captured, costed, and agreed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the client, design teams, and contractors to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting and budget control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in Quantity Surveying
- Proven experience in electrical infrastructure, backup generators, UPS systems, HV/LV power distribution, and complex mechanical installations.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual frameworks within the construction sector.
- Excellent cost control, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel, MS Project).
