Role Overview:

One of my local government clients is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious 7.5 Tonne Driver to support operations from the Kettering Depot.

This role primarily involves driving a food pod vehicle, with duties including the loading and emptying of food pods as part of the Council's environmental or waste services. A willingness to assist with manual loading is essential and may lead to additional overtime opportunities, especially on Mondays.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate 7.5 Tonne vehicles safely and in accordance with Council and legal standards

Load and empty food pods as part of the collection service

*

Follow designated routes and schedules reliably and efficiently

*

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct pre-use checks

*

Complete relevant documentation and report issues promptly

*

Collaborate with depot teams and supervisors to ensure smooth service delivery

Requirements:

*

Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5T entitlement)

*

Maximum of 3 penalty points accepted on licence; no more than this will be considered

*

CPC qualification and tacho card (if applicable)

*

Previous experience in a similar driving role (waste, logistics, or collections preferred)

*

Physically fit and willing to assist with manual handling and loading

*

Flexible approach - including availability for Monday overtime if needed

*

Commitment to health and safety protocols and excellent road awareness

Working Hours:

*

Tuesday - Friday: 06:30 - 16:30

*

Optional Monday overtime available and paid at enhanced rate
