Join a leading manufacturer in the commercial kitchen ventilation industry, renowned for its innovative design, production, installation, and servicing of advanced ventilation solutions. We are seeking an R&D Engineer to develop and enhance our products and services, supporting ambitious growth plans within the market.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage new product development projects (NPDI) from inception to completion.
  • Design, test, and develop innovative products and solutions tailored to the needs of the commercial kitchen ventilation market.
  • Ensure successful delivery of all projects on time and within budget, adhering to defined R&D project briefs.
  • Communicate effectively across all internal departments to integrate cross-functional design considerations.
  • Produce regular internal reports and updates for senior leadership.
  • Provide technical support to both internal teams and external customers as required.
  • Lead and participate in design review meetings to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams during the development and implementation phases to ensure seamless transitions from concept to completion.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Relevant work-based experience or completed apprenticeship in a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Preferably some knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Highly analytical with strong logical and critical reasoning skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret briefs and focus on project outcomes.
