PottertonPacs is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of custom made flight cases, bags and foam packaging.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Custom Flight Case Builder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and assembling bespoke flight cases to ensure the safe transport and storage of equipment.

This is a hands-on position in fabrication, along with a strong understanding of how to create durable protective cases for sensitive technical equipment is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct custom flight cases.
• Work from specifications, or technical drawings to create accurate and secure case layouts.
• Use tools and machinery such as saws, drills, rivet guns, foam cutters, and CNC routers.
• Cut, shape, and fit foam inserts to securely hold equipment in place.
• Install hardware such as latches, handles, hinges, casters, and corner guards.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure durability, functionality, and accurate fit.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow all health and safety regulations.
• Manage time efficiently to meet production deadlines.

Requirements:

• Preferable experience in flight case construction, or fabrication. however training will be provided.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Experience using woodworking tools and workshop machinery safely.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Physically fit able to lift and move heavy materials and work on your feet.

Additional information:

The role is available for immediate start, both part time or full time applications will be considered. The basic full time working hours are; 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:30am – 12:30pm on a Friday (total of 39 hours).
