About the Role:

PCR is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in school refurbishment projects to oversee the delivery of high-quality education sector builds. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor known for excellence in the refurbishment and redevelopment of primary, secondary, and SEN schools.

You'll be responsible for managing on-site activities, ensuring health and safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget—all while working in sensitive, often live school environments.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage day-to-day site operations on school refurbishment projects

* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to meet program and quality standards

* Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, especially in live school settings

* Liaise with clients, local authorities, and school leadership teams to ensure smooth project delivery

* Oversee site logistics, deliveries, waste management, and access control

* Monitor progress and provide regular reporting to senior management

* Uphold safeguarding practices and maintain DBS clearance protocols on-site

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Site Manager on education refurbishment projects

* Strong understanding of CDM regulations and live-site safety

* SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid at Work - essential

* Enhanced DBS certification (or willingness to obtain)

* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Ability to read drawings and manage multiple trades and subcontractors

Desirable:

* Experience with modular classroom installation

* Temporary works coordination (TWC or TWS) certification

* Knowledge of fire safety compliance and asbestos management in older school buildings
