Our client is now looking to appoint a skilled Development Engineer to play a key role in managing and coordinating the technical side of residential developments—from feasibility to final delivery.

This is a landmark hire. You'll be the first in-house appointment within their Engineering team—previously, all engineering input has been outsourced. As such, you'll be the technical cornerstone of future developments and will play a huge part in shaping the company's engineering function from the ground up. This brings with it an exceptional career path toward Engineering Manager as the business continues to grow.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

Acting as the technical lynchpin between internal teams and external consultants

*

Preparing site viability reports in line with current regulations

*

Managing the timely delivery of accurate engineering drawings and technical info

*

Overseeing statutory approvals for engineering design and ground investigation

*

Attending meetings with planners, highways, and utility companies to ensure aligned requirements

*

Supporting site teams with technical advice and design solutions throughout the build process

*

Championing continuous improvement and innovation in design and delivery

👷‍♂️ What We're Looking For

*

A background in engineering/technical roles within UK residential development

*

Experience preparing engineering schedules, AutoCAD knowledge preferred

*

Confident communicator, proactive problem-solver, and a detail-focused mindset

*

Able to work closely with Build Partners, internal teams, and Local Authorities

*

Commercially aware with a hands-on approach to getting projects over the line

*

Ambition to grow into a leadership role within the engineering function

💰 Package & Perks

Up to £65,000 all-in salary (experience-dependent)

*

Bonus scheme based on company performance - historically paid between 20% and 70% of base salary

45p per mile mileage allowance
