Spinwell is recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacist for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CLINICAL PHARMACIST

This role is an exciting opportunity to work on a challenging, fast-paced project within the Supply Resilience Directorate and to support the delivery of a key government priority to increase supply resilience across critical medicines and medical products. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist pharmaceutical expertise to the Supply Resilience Directorate, working with the team and key stakeholders to develop supply resilience plans for critical products.

The role will require working closely with analysts and policy leads to provide clinical context to the supply chain data of critical medicines and medical products, as well as identifying and assessing impacts to patients and the wider health system. The role will lead on analysing, interpreting and presenting medical data to highlight issues and risks and support decision-making. This will include undertaking assessments on product criticality and delivering evidence-based recommendations on appropriate alternatives where vulnerabilities to resilience are identified.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE CLINICAL PHARMACIST

* Lead the development of criticality assessments for medicines and medical products. This includes overseeing the review of our criteria used to identify vulnerable products.

* Work with analytical and policy leads in the Supply Resilience Directorate and across client to support the development of supply resilience plans for identified critical products in response to emerging threats to continuity of supply and vulnerabilities within supply chains, including understanding and aligning with existing resilience building plans where appropriate.

* Provide pharmaceutical expertise to the project, including leading on the development of impact assessments for identified critical and vulnerable products, and making recommendations on clinical alternatives.

* Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited British School of Pharmacy, or recognised equivalent

* Registered Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council

* In-depth clinical knowledge and a robust understanding of the principles of evidence-based healthcare.

* Ability to analyse complex and/or incomplete data, assess risks and impacts, and make evidence-based recommendations.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to a variety of audiences.

* Ability to deliver a high-quality service within tight timescales.

* Ability to forge productive relationships within teams and across the Department, Government, arm's length bodies and other stakeholders.
