We are working with a well-established international insurer with a strong UK presence, looking to recruit a Construction Underwriter to join their Birmingham team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage and develop a portfolio of construction risks, working closely with brokers and clients to provide tailored, technically robust solutions.

The Role

• Underwrite and assess new and renewal construction risks
• Prepare quotations and supporting documentation for brokers and clients
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with internal teams, brokers, and clients to deliver efficient service
• Monitor market trends and emerging risks in the construction sector

About You

• Previous experience underwriting construction risks within a commercial insurance environment
• Strong technical knowledge of construction insurance products
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities
• CII or equivalent qualifications desirable but not essential
