About the Role Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Care Worker to take a lead role in supporting children and young people in a nurturing, therapeutic environment. You’ll be a key figure in ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and personal development—while also guiding and supporting a team of Residential Workers.
What You’ll Be Doing - Leading by example to create a safe, supportive, and positive home environment.
- Supporting and mentoring Residential Workers to deliver high-quality care.
- Ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of each child in your care.
- Promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and resilience.
- Driving company vehicles (if licensed) to support daily activities and appointments.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Being flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the home.
- Participating in ongoing training and development to grow your skills.
Safeguarding Responsibilities - Vigilantly follow safeguarding protocols and risk assessments.
- Promptly report and document any incidents, concerns, or accidents.
- Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
What We’re Looking For - Qualified: NVQ Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or at least 50% completed).
- Experienced: Background in children’s residential care and safeguarding.
- Skilled: Strong communication, behaviour management, and IT/admin skills.
- Understanding: Deep knowledge of EBD/SEMH and how to support young people with complex needs.
- Positive Role Model: Someone who leads with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
- Driver: Manual driving licence is desirable.
