Deputy Manager
Location: Maidenhead
Salary: £35,000 to £39,000 per annum
We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a high-quality early years setting in Maidenhead.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional to step into a key leadership role within a nursery that is built around exceptional care, inspiring learning environments and a genuine family-focused approach. The setting offers thoughtfully designed spaces, a strong outdoor learning focus and a warm, welcoming environment for both children and parents.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of the nursery, maintain high standards across the setting and help lead a positive, committed team. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, organised and confident in balancing operational responsibility with strong practice on the floor.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the setting
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding care and education
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, welfare and EYFS practice
- Support staff development, performance and room quality
- Build strong relationships with parents, children and the wider team
- Help ensure the nursery environment remains safe, engaging and well organised
- Oversee routines, compliance and the smooth day-to-day operation of the nursery
Requirements:
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years
- Previous experience in a senior nursery role such as Third in Charge, Room Leader or Deputy Manager
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and nursery compliance
- Confident leadership and team support skills
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- Passion for delivering high-quality early years care and education

This nursery is open51 weeks of the year, operating 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday, and promotes features including bright, well-equipped rooms, outdoor forestry learning, freshly prepared meals, experienced childcare professionals, a parent refreshments area and on-site support for easier drop-offs and pick-ups.
