Sliding Head Setter - CNC Machinist

A leading machining business is seeking an experienced Sliding Head Setter to join their dynamic and progressive team based in Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about high-quality manufacturing and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in setting and operating CNC sliding head machines (Fanuc control preferred)

The ability to read and write CNC programs

Excellent measuring skills and a good understanding of engineering drawings

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for setting up CNC sliding head machines for production runs, making in-process adjustments, and ensuring quality control of all produced components. This role requires close collaboration with support and quality control teams to maintain production efficiency and standards.

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (including 20% shift premium), depending on experience

Shift Pattern:

This is a rotating shift role:

Week 1: Monday to Friday - 6:00 am to 2:00 pm

Week 2: Monday to Thursday - 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm
