Spencer Ogden has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Supervisor with a leading CV cable installation company.

Location: North East England
Reports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager
Employment Type: Contract - 12m contract

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the on-site installation of high voltage (HV) cables (typically 11kV to 400kV), ensuring works are executed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with relevant standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and coordinate HV cable installation activities on-site.

* Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements and enforce safety protocols.

* Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.

* Review and interpret project drawings, cable route plans, and method statements.

* Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets technical specifications and industry standards.

* Oversee trenching, ducting, cable pulling, jointing, and termination works.

* Manage tools, materials, and labor on site.

* Maintain site documentation, including daily progress reports, inspections, permits, and checklists.

* Coordinate with utilities and other third parties as necessary.

* Attend and contribute to site meetings and toolbox talks.

* Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimize project delays.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).

* Minimum 5 years of experience in HV cable installation projects (11kV - 400kV).

* Proven supervisory experience on similar utility or infrastructure projects.

* Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is an advantage.

* Knowledge of cable laying techniques, jointing procedures, testing, and commissioning.

* Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, BS, IEEE) and utility regulations.

Working Conditions:

* Field-based role with frequent travel to project sites.

* Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, and in varying weather conditions as needed.
