Our client based in Poole has an immediate requirement for an experienced Shift Engineer to join their established maintenance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on carrying out timely, professional repairs and planned maintenance on all manufacturing site equipment. The Shift Engineer will take the lead in health and safety and be of technical assistance for the operations teams.
Key Responsibilities as follows:
- Effectively and efficiently provide reactive support, planned maintenance and continuous improvements on equipment throughout the factory units.
- Update the Engineering maintenance system to provide feedback on completed tasks to ensure equipment histories and costs are kept up to date, enabling follow up work to be identified and planned.
- Maintain all aspects of the plant relating to M&E, control and automation to ensure reliability, integrity and efficiency.
- Ensure engineering spares are accurately booked out on shift to ensure correct stock levels are maintained to minimise equipment downtime.
- Work safely by applying sound engineering principles and safe systems of work e.g. isolations, permit to work, risk assessment, whilst working across a diverse range of equipment and associated hazards.
- Ensure all work carried out in accordance with company and statutory standards to ensure equipment and process are compliant.
- Effective communication with the engineering teams at shift handovers to ensure continuity of technical issues across shift so that informed decisions can be made.
- Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to always protect the health and safety of yourself and others.
- Be a member of the site Fire Evacuation Team.
Applicants will have extensive and recent experience working as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment. You must have a good understanding of equipment and the ability to deliver a great maintenance service, will have a nationally recognised qualification in mechanical (NVQ L2) and/or electrical qualifications (City and Guilds L3 Diploma) and a broad knowledge of modern maintenance techniques and practical engineering fundamentals.
You will be required to work on a 4-shift rotation which includes earlies (06 till 14), lates (14 till 22) and Nights (22 till 06). For this permanent position we can offer a starting salary of £50,326 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package, there are also good opportunities for development and progression.
